I have lived with my partner for 10 years and we have now separated.  The house is in her name, although I have always paid my share of the upkeep of the property.  The relationship is now at an end. Do I have any rights?

Yes, you may have a right to make a financial claim against your former partner, particularly if you have children together.  Any claim must be raised within one year of the date that you separate.

My partner and I lived together for a period of 10 years and she recently died.  She left no will.  Do I have any rights in relation to her estate?

You may have right to claim on your partner’s estate only if she has not left a will.

My girlfriend is having a baby next month, will I have any rights as a father?

Yes, if you are registered as the child’s father in a UK register of births.

My wife and I separated one year ago this month.  Can I divorce her?
Yes, you can divorce your wife after one year only if she agrees to the divorce.  If not, you need to wait two years.

I am gay and have been in a long term relationship with my partner.  We have recently separated.  Do I have the same rights as heterosexual-cohabities?

Yes.

My wife and I are divorcing.  Do we value all the property that we have at the date we separated?

Generally yes, however, if you want joint property transferred in to your own name you may require an up to date valuation.
